It seems that the Blues are intent on fielding a team of midfielders!

According to Talksport, Chelsea face competition from Sevilla to sign Porto’s Oliver Torres.

It is reported that the Spaniard has been a target for the Blues for a considerable period, yet Sevilla are also in the chase for his signature.

Despite impressing during his time at Atletico Madrid, the midfielder has been left out of the Porto team of late.

The 23-year-old has only managed to amass 17 appearances in all competitions for the Portuguese side.

While considering that the club has only recently signed Ross Barkley, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek could return at the end of the season, it seems highly unlikely that the Blues will sign another midfielder.

That said, considering the board’s obsession of signing players at reduced fees, you wouldn’t discard the board from making another bewildering transfer.
