The Italian defender was linked with the club in the summer of 2016.

According to Italian outlet Leggo, cited by Sport Lens, the Blues have been linked with a move for AC Milan defender, Alessio Romagnoli.

The 23-year-old began his career at Roma, before transferring to Milan at the start of the 2015/16 season.

Since completing his move from the Italian capital, Romagnoli has attained 101 appearances for Milan, scoring a decent total of six goals.

He has also earned five caps for Italy. While considering that both Gary Cahill and David Luiz are ageing it might not be implausible to suggest that the Blues sign another defender.

The centre-half has made six appearances in the Europa League this season, and his Milan side faces Arsenal in the Europa League tonight.

At the age of 23, he possesses an abundance of potential, which is aligned with Chelsea’s insistence on buying young talent.
