Drinkwater could be on the move.

According to the Daily Telegraph, West Ham United have been alerted by Drinkwater’s frustrations at Chelsea, and the Blues’ London rivals are allegedly interested in signing the 28-year-old.

The Englishman joined the Blues from Leicester City in the summer transfer window for a fee of £35M. While his arrival shocked several supporters, many anticipated that he would rekindle the successful partnership that he shared with N’Golo Kante at Leicester.

However, the Englishman’s transfer hasn’t materialised as many would have hoped. The former Leicester midfielder has only amassed 22 appearances for the club this season. His only goal was scored in a 4-0 triumph against Stoke City in the Premier League.

Despite the alleged interest in his services, Chelsea won’t allow Drinkwater to depart unless they regain the fee that they paid Leicester City. Moreover, with rumours of Conte’s imminent departure, it is reported that Drinkwater is waiting to see if he features in the Blues’ plans for next season – if Conte does depart in the summer.
