The Blues are poised to make a mammoth £53M swoop for Gonzalo Higuain.
As the London Evening Standard reports, Chelsea are set to hold discussions with Juventus over a move for Gonzalo Higuain. It’s believed that Maurizio Sarri is keen to work with the striker again, the pair worked with each other at Napoli.
Talks have been scheduled for Wednesday, and it’s reported that the fee for Higuain will be in the region of £53M, earning £127,000 per week. If the Blues succeed to complete the transfer this week, the Argentine striker will become our second signing of the summer.
Without question, the 30-year-old’s goal-scoring record with Juventus is mightily impressive. During 105 appearances for the Old Lady, Higuain has amassed a commendable total of 55 goals.
It’s evident that Sarri is keen to work with players who understand his style of play, which could aid the process of establishing that philosophy at Chelsea.
