It appears that Willian is poised to stay at the club, as Nick Blakely reports.

Throughout this summer transfer window, Willian has been linked with a move away from Chelsea.  Clubs such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Manchester United are all reportedly interested in him. However, Willian looks set to stay at Stamford Bridge, according to numerous outlets. Willian is valued at €38M by transfermarkt.

Willian was due back at Cobham last Friday, but an issue with his passport prevented him from returning to England.  The Times also reported that Willian has remained in contact with the club’s hierarchy about the issue.

According to Sky Sports, Willian will fly back to London tonight, and he will report back to pre-season training at Chelsea on Wednesday.  Willian may even be offered a new contract by Chelsea, according to ESPN Brazil.

With Willian looking likely to stay at the club, I think we can all be excited to see how he can develop even further under Sarri. It appears that Sarri does rate Willian, as Maurizio has said in press conferences before that he would like to keep him.

I think Willian could potentially be a fantastic player under Sarri.  His pace and skill with the ball at his feet are something special. I believe he would fit the system which the manager is trying to implement quite well.

We all know just how good Willian can be on his day.  The games against Barcelona are perfect examples of this.  I’m excited to see how Willian benefits from this new system, and I’m looking forward to the new season. Up the Chels!
