While Premier League clubs are prohibited from making new signings, existing players can still depart abroad before the conclusion of the month. One such deal has seen Kenneth Omeruo join Leganes on loan for the remainder of the season.

As was officially confirmed by Chelsea, Kenneth Omeruo has joined La Liga side Leganes for the remainder of the campaign. The Nigerian defender joined the club from Standard Liege in 2012. However, he has yet to make a single appearance for the club.

Despite that, the 24-year-old is vastly experienced at international level having represented his country on 40 occasions. Furthermore, he started in two games for Nigeria at the World Cup, against Iceland and Argentina.

To date, he has amassed 154 senior appearances at club level, and he’s regarded for his versatility and defensive solidity. At his age, it’s unlikely that Omeruo will establish himself at Chelsea, and rumours indicate that the loan deal includes an option to buy.

Best of luck, Kenneth!
