Eden Hazard in the most equitable sense possible is the best player in the Premier League.
Nonetheless, this is a player somewhat underappreciated on the global stage, but why? The first argument that comes from those opposing this notion is that of statistics. No doubt, Hazard cannot compete with the inhuman figures posted by the two greatest players of our generation, Lionel Messi & Cristiano Ronaldo. However, does this data paint the entire picture?
Personally, I believe the game extends past the numbers. A player’s ability can and should be judged on their overall contribution on the field, on a consistent basis. Without a doubt, Eden Hazard each week mesmerises us with his attacking prowess. There’s a reason why football experts across the globe rate him consistently in the top three players in the world. It’s time to believe.
