168809103A good week for moments of proper Chels and downright comedy!

Although at times the match against Galatasary was rather grim, the mood was lightened somewhat by Captain – Leader – Legend, John Terry, who spotted that the Galatasary ball boys were far quicker off the mark than their players, recycled the ball to initiate a quick attack. JT knowing that he was out of position, and that the attack might prove damaging, threw the ball he was holding back in to the field of play, ensuring that there were now two balls in play. Galatasary continued their attack and scored from it. The referee had no option but to disallow the goal, and Chelsea were reprieved! Some might say that this was a cynical piece of gamesmanship executed by the arch nemesis of all that is good in football, who rightly received a booking for his sins. This show would disagree, and say that JT does what he always does – took one for the team and had the quick witedness to act when the team were in danger!photo10

Talking of Istanbul, there is absolutely no way that the several thousand die hard supporters who made the trip out there for the Chelsea cause can not get a nomination for Celery moment! So of course they get one. It’s a long way to Istanbul. It costs a fair amount of money to get there and back. And that’s before you even think about the maurauding gangs of Galatasary fans picking on isolated groups of one or two Chelsea supporters and dishing out a kicking and a stab in the arse. In the face of all that the Chelsea faithful did what they always do – stuck together, drank themselves silly, and made their presence felt and heard in the ‘hellish’ atmosphere of the Turk Telekom Arena. “Welcome to Hell? We’re having a laugh!”

Our third nomination this week goes to Jose Mourinho. Celery moments embrace Old Skool football, and there was something definitely Old Skool about Jose balling out Torres for being lazy or dozy and Schurrle for one of the most pathetic corners ever seen. But being Jose he takes it a notch further. Apparently at Half-Time, he was so incensed by the poor 1st half display by Chelsea that he simply walked in to the dressing room, stared at the players for 10 seconds and then walked out. Conflicting reports suggest that he may have given them a short sharp blast of the hair dryer, and even suggested that “You got yourselves in to the shit, so now get yoursleves out of it”. Whatever really happened, it was sublime man management and it certainly worked.

BhpwLIVIUAA6sTKAnd finally, we love a bit of silliness on the show, and this is no exception. Chelsea supporters took hundereds of stickers out to Galatasary bearing the legend: “Welcome to Hell? Still Not Bothered!”. Where better to stick the left over supply than on the back of the head of a Fulham steward – especially when said steward is unaware of what has transpired.

Here’s what the Chelsea Fancast had to say as they reveal the winner on the show:
