And the nominations are:

Not content with scoring an own goal that helped Jose Mourinho lift his first Cup for Chelsea, or passing to Didier Drogba to help us win the Double in 2010, Stevie Me Gerrard did it yet again by slipping and handing the ball to Demba Ba to score the opening goal. He might as well have signed for Chelsea in 2005 for all the help he’s given us!

Torres, denied an opportunity to set the record straight for most of the match made a substitute appearance late on (largely to replace Ba who kept giving the ball away). The odious Daniel Sturridge gave the ball away in the last minute (schadenfreude!) and Torres and Willian race towards the Liverpool penalty area, He could have grabbed the glory. He could have silenced the Kop – frankly he deserved to. But in a fantastic show of selflessness and team spirit, Torres did the right thing and gently passed the ball to Willian who walked the ball in to the net, and the scousers were weighed and measured.

And finally, Jose Mourinho gets in the act yet again. What a week. First he gives a spikey press conference on Friday nailing his colours to the mast with comments such as “My job is to defend Chelsea and the Chelsea supporters” and demanding “respect for our achievements in Europe” and declaring about the Liverpool game, “I’m not a neutral – I’m Chelsea”. And then after Willian settled the match Jose haired down the touchline toward the massed ranks of Chelsea in the Anfield Road end, thumping his heart in a show of unity with the supporters and going mad in the process. Not content with that, in the post match interview, when questioned by the loathsome Geoff Shreeves, Jose says “ask Jamie Redknapp, he’s got a massive football brain”. And did we mention his brilliant tactics to deliver what many thought would be a nigh on impossible job? Classic Jose. What a Manager. What a week.
