Eden Hazard had his best game for Chelsea this season – not bad considering he was suffering from a knock picked up playing for Belgium in mid-week. He was a constant threat whenever he picked up the ball and ran at Swansea. His intricate passing and moving in Swansea’s penalty area was fantastic and he seems to be forging an excellent link with Fabregas and Costa. I think he will really benefit from the weight of responsibility being lifted by the arrival of Costa to score the goals and Fabregas to assist.

And now to the record breakers! First Cesc Fabregas made two more assists for Diego Costa against Swansea which now means he is the first player to have made an assist in 6 consecutive Premier League games. Obviously we don;t count the two he made for Arsenal, but never the less that is impressive, as was Cesc yet again yesterday. It seems to me that Fabregas and Costa are building the same sort of on-pitch relationship that we saw with Frank Lampard and Dider Drogba. If only Cesc could score some goals too!

Diego Costa. What can you say. Before the Swansea game he had scored 4 goals in 3 games. For most that would have been enough. Not for Costa though. Against Swansea he scored his first hat-trick for Chelsea (the first of many we hope). This means he has now scored an incredible 7 goals in 4 games the first player in Premier League history to do so, and matching Mick Quinn who scored in his first four games for Coventry in 1992 and Chelsea’s John Meredith in 1928. What a striker he is – physical, hard working and lethal where it counts – in the penalty area.  Hopefully he will match Gianfranco Zola who scored in his first 5 Premier League games in 2002/03.  Curiously Costa’s goal record this season is following the Fibonacci Sequence. This means that we can expect to see him put 5 in against Schalke, and 8 past Man Shitty, which is awesome, but not as awesome as the epic 55 he’ll score against the Gooners!

Costa. It is incredibly relieving to see that when our wingers or MF player put the ball on a plate it will end up in the back of the net and he will be in the correct position to do so.
