4526119In an all too rare direct threat on the Sunderland goal, Nemanja Matic unleashed a great shot that got the pulse racing – he probably hit it too well!

Sunderland threatened more and more as the game got stretched with Chelsea looking for a winner. Adam Johnson found himself in space on the left of Chelsea’s area but John Terry as he so often is was ahead of the impending danger and with great anticipation and a measured tackle in the penalty are snuffed out the threat. Class defending.

A long ball was punted upfield to Diego Costa, who deftly trapped the ball on the volley and then went on one of his bullocking runs. Superb skill and control by the big man.
