This is undoubtedly an intriguing transfer rumour.
According to Tuttsport, cited by Talksport, the Blues are interested in the services of Juventus’ Kwadwo Asamoah. The 29-year-old will be available on a free transfer in the summer, as his contract expires at the end of this season.
He rejected a new deal at Juventus, and it is reported that Inter Milan are also interested in his services. This is the second time, which the rumour has emerged this season, and it seems that the Blues are recruiting to boost squad depth.
The Ghanaian is capable of operating as a left-back or in left-midfield, which could provide the Blues with invaluable adaptability.
However, it is unlikely that Asamoah would start at Chelsea given the presence of Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri.
If the defender is willing to play a bit-part role, then it’s conceivable to suggest that this deal could be completed.
