Contrary to recent reports, it now appears that the Blues are in pole position to sign Jean Michael Seri from Nice.
The world of transfers is continuously evolving. A few days ago, Arsenal were deemed to be the favourites to sign Seri, yet the Daily Mirror are reporting that the Blues are now in pole position to sign the talented midfielder. The fee is said to be in the region of £40M
Barcelona were heavily linked with a move for Seri last season, and while the Gunners have held talks with Seri over a potential transfer, it is now believed that the Blues are the favourites to sign the 26-year-old. Seri has contributed to seven league goals for Nice this season, scoring two goals and registering five assists.
The Ivorian midfielder is regarded for his technical abilities, in addition to his defensive tenacity. His presence would undoubtedly augment a midfield that has been relatively dependent on the relentless work of N’Golo Kante.
